Military housing allowances are computed according to an indididual's rank, (you must be qualified) and the higher your rank, the higher the allowance. In high rent areas additional subsidies may also be added to the housing allowance.

I believe it's a grand and if you don't use it all, you can add it to your pay .... But don't quote me on that.
