There are several effective ways according to popular legend. First, you can never go wrong with fire. Lighting a zombie on fire works in pretty much every zombie movie. Next there's always the shotgun to the chest, or just keep shooting until there's nothing but a pile of zombie flesh and guts. Another method to make extra sure your zombie is dead, cut off its head, soak it in holy water, stuff its head full of garlic and throw it into a river. Burn the rest of the corpse.

Anything that destroys the brain. Head shots are the best, but you better be a damn good marksman. Try and behead them with a sword (katanas are good), or get a blunt object and smash their skulls.
I'm gonna have to disagree with Silver_Snake, though: NEVER USE FIRE!!! It takes forever to completely destroy a corpse, so you'll basically just have a flaming zombie coming at you, which will, in turn, prolly light stuff around you on fire, including other zombies. So, you're basically gonna be trapped in a burning building, or forest, or whatever, with flaming zombies trying to eat your guts. The good thing is, if you burn to death first, the zombies probably won't be interested in you. They don't like cooked meat.

Zombies traditionally die when you destroy their brain, although that isn't true for all zombies. It depends on what type. If it's the "night of the living dead" style zombie then the head is OK but if it's one of those magically created zombies even the pieces will continue to attack you so you'll have to completely destroy the body with fire or acid or something similar.

Light them on fire. I belong to the camp that believes that because zombies don't have normal life functions they wouldn't need their head to survive, so a headshot wouldn't do anything. All you can do is burn them to the ground so they don't exist anymore.
Of course, I don't actually believe in zombies, I'm just a video game and horror movie nerd. :)

Are you talking hollywood "night of the living dead" zombies or actual mythological zombies?
If you are talking about voodoo zombies, the best way to return them to the grave is to feed them salt.

A zombie is supposed to be already dead, so you can't kill it again.
But as the popular movies and myths go, you have to chop off its head and probably marry it to destroy it. Strange!

Popular opinion says they bite the dust if you give them salt (or anything with.) But for more recurring zombies, try beheading them and separating their body parts. (^_^) You plannin' on killing one?

there are various ways that these evil creatures can be destroyed ... some people have special powers and are adept at doing this task . Special potent herbs made from animals which are poisonous to us are used
