Well I'm Native American and Irish. I'd go back to Ireland!
I would live in a tiny town were only a few hundred people live.

Well as others have suggested, Canada would probably make the most sense for many Americans since it is so close in proximity and, in many ways, culturally/politically, etc.; I live @ a mile from Canada myself, and could probably just swim across the St. Clair River (during summer) or walk/drive across the Blue Water Bridge. Another suggestion that someone else has made is Australia since it too is somewhat similar to the US in size, vaguely similar history (European outcasts/refugees, native peoples, and others combining to form a great nation), and somewhat similar culturally too. Mexico would be another obvious choice for many Americans as the next closest country to ours (it would be a bit ironic of thousands of Americans started to cross the border into Mexico instead of vice versa and I wonder how the Mexican people/government would react if we went illegally, took jobs, demanded rights, etc.) My favorite spot to vacation is Cozumel, but, I'm not sure if I would want to face hurricane season every year. I'm sure many Americans would try to return to the homeland(s) of their ancestors. There are many European countries that would be possibilities for me but I haven't been "across the pond" in years and, in addition, I would probably have to re-learn my German or Spanish or learn a new language completely. Besides Canada, the country I have been to that I could most see myself immigrating to is Costa Rica. Costa Rica is a beautiful nation with much to offer an American (and many Americans are retiring there) such as great weather (it is also immune from hurricanes since it is so far south), friendly people, (I believe) universal health care, and most everybody speaks Spanish and English (I believe it is now a requirement for Costa Rican children to learn English as a second language in school) so there wouldn't be a language barrier.

I just went to the Netherlands and adored the people there. Most speak English, and this would aid me in my transition to the new language and culture. I also speak German, so I might go to Germany too.
