It works to get plastic ziploc bags, fill them with water, and then tie them to the ceiling and let them hang everywhere. Apparently, the fly sees its reflection or something and gets scared. leave a window or something to let them out! I know it sounds weird and crazy but i promise it works.

Flies are repelled by citrus, so scratch the peels of an orange and leave them out. Or hang a bundle of cloves, or keep a pot of fresh mint in the window.
Sprinkle borax or dry soap in the trash can after its washed and dried to keep flies away.
Make your own fly paper by boiling sugar, corn syrup and water. Spread the sticky mixture on brown paper, and lay it out where it will attract flies.

Vinager is a remedy for everything so try setting some out some where! I had a problem of flies on the outside on time and it drove me crazy, maybe it is the weather!

I agree with the bags of water. I eat at a German restaurant on their outside patio and they have bags of water hanging all around the place and there are never any flies. We can sit out there for hours! Don't know how or why it works, but it does. I'm going to try it at home too.
