Questions on this site ( many) ask " why do whites............"? I am tired of feeling I have to explain all people are equal. Sterotyping is not acceptable , UNLESS, you are talking about fat or white people. Your opinion?

I know others are sterotyped. But whites are sterotyped as being in control and responsible for negative , and repressive roles. I am angry about a skin complexion being the subject. Aren't we beyond that yet? Where as so many have live ,fought , and died for equal rights, we have to still base individual thought on skin color? So 20th century!

you're totally right. straight white males are the most stereotyped group in America.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, being color sensitive does not make a fair society. we must learn to be color blind.

All people ARE equal, but also accept that there are whites, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Indians, etc. And it's certainly ok, if we're all equal, to use the appropriate term to describe someone. For example, if I see a tall, broad-shouldered, handsome black man and I want to describe him to my friend, I would say he was a tall, broad-shouldered, handsome black man. I wouldn't leave out black just because he's black. His color is a part of him. Same with a white man or a Hispanic. We ARE all equal, but we are not all the same color, and color IS part of the whole equation.

it annoys me that 'white' people are considered the same.
because technically there are many different versions of this 'white' group. in fact, white people include a HUGE portion of Europe. russians, Germans, Swedish, French, British, Scottish, and yes, while our skin tones may be similar we are not the same. for example you dont EVER mistake a German for a Frenchman. and if you mistake a Scottsman for an Irishman it'll be the last thing you ever do. Swedish people look absolutly NOTHING like Russians, and technically, russians look more like native americans than they do the rest of the Europe.

Ya I'm sick of that also, but it is not just white people. Because we also do that same thing for black, Asian, middle eastern, Korean, and many more people. White people aren't the only ones getting stereotyped on this site.

the same reason why you want to catergorize all Arab and Indian people the same, or all Southeast people the same, etc.
The brain's purpose is to receive all the chaos that it is learning from the world and simplify it so that everything is comprehensive. Unfortunately, that has led to the innateness within us all to catergorize people and things.
I don't like it personally, but if you can't fight them, join them.

Read through the 'Society & Culture" questions and answers and be glad you're not Hispanic, Middle Eastern/Muslim, Black or Asian. Because the racism and cultural bias is horrific!!!
The "White categorization" you are talking about is nothing compared to this....
