I have seen some very cute handmade "memory tins" usually at local scrapbook stores where they have offered a class on making them (I missed the class ,darn it) Does anyone know how to make these? When you buy them plain they are usually white, and then painted and embellished. I haven't had any luck online, can anyone help?

I dont know if you are talking about this, but I made a "Memory Jar" for my mother on Mothers Day a few years ago. All I did was went to the craft section at Walmart and bought a pretty vase and came home and typed up memories that we had together when I was younger. It was a nice gift for when she was feeling blue or having a down day, she could pull some from the jar and read them to make her feel better.
I dont know if that will help you, but its a thought for a gift if not.

hi- go to www.stampington.com and go to the shoppe link. They have lots of really cool craft supplies, including the metal tins in different size. I have purchased the CD size for this same thing, but I think they are silver, they may have some white ones too.
You can also do a yahoo! search for metal tins and you will get some good sites that sell in bulk or packaging supplies.
good luck

I searched for "creating memory box" and tons of stuff came up. Lots of sites show you how to make them. Good luck.

What do you need to know? How to prepare one for the external decoration or how to do the inside or both?
