Someone gave me this answer on Yahoo Answers... but I don't know what they are called or where I could order them online
" they make little cork screw types of things with a cute little button design on top that you twist thru the arm cover into the arm of the couch. "

Thanks so much.

I know what the little corkscrew thingies are, but not what they are called. I do know that Bed, Bath, & Beyond sells them. I know that I've seen them in the bedding department.

I dont know about those items, but, why not use velcro to hold the armchair covers on?

I use them all the time.

All you have to do is put a strip on the arm chair cover, put a few stitches in them to hold them and the things will grab the fabric on the armchair very nicely...

You can get them at Dots or any fabric store..

I wish you well

we use Velcro strips at my house, just Peel the adhesive backing off and apply one side to the couch arm and the other inside the cover and they don't come off unless you want them too and nothing to snag on and rip off the couch.

I would try looking at a craft or craft-like store, or even walmart.
