My 1991 Firebird wont start for some reason we think it is the Fuel Pump .....what do u Think?

take off the distribator cap under there your find a ecm which is a electronic control module it has four prongs that are plug into it ,if you have ohm meter check curret with key on.... also pull one plug wire hold slightly above metal object to see if any spark...also a stopped up catalatic converter will keep car from starting many possibilities try to troubleshoot down....electric fuel pump or manuel? either way easy to check....

If you suspect the fuel pump, first see if u hear it when you first turn on the key. When u turn on the key, but not start it, just turn the key to "on", you should hear the pump "hum" for about 2 or 3 seconds. If you dont, that will be a good sign that you have a fuel pump problem.

Without more information, I think that your car will not start for some reason!.
You need three things for an engine to run, and they need to be timed correctly. You need fuel, spark and compression. If you suspect that you have a fuel problem, try spraying a little starter fluid into the air intake. If the car starts, then you have a fuel problem.

If your car turns over and doesent fire it may be the pump but if it dont get fuel to the cylinders it may be more seveir than you think.
