Q: How can I uninstall avast!?
A: You can uninstall avast! using ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in Control Panel. If any problem appears, use the avast! uninstall utility.
Click on the START button.
Select SETTINGS -> CONTROL PANEL (or CONTROL PANEL - it depends on your Windows version) -> ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
From the list of installed applications select avast! Antivirus and click on CHANGE/REMOVE button.
avast! setup will start. Select UNINSTALL and click on NEXT.
A computer restart will be required after uninstalling avast!

First uninstall it in the usual way.
Then check avast directory and if it still exists, delete it manually.

go to the start menu and go to add and remove programs search through the list of programs installed and find avast

Control Panel and delete or go to the website where you installed it there should be uni stall info there!

hit the start button, go to all programs/accessories/ms-dos prompt and at the prompt type format and hit enter...
