Cause IE runs in the background as soon as your computer starts. Firefox has to open from scratch.

Load Web Pages At Lighting Speed
Once you've loaded up firefox go to the address bar and type "about:config" without the quotes. Right click and select New>Integer. Name the integer "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" without the quotes. Change the integers value to 0. What this does is tells firefox to wait 0 milliseconds before loading the page so the page loads extremly fast.
