I'm sure "sbw" was the maker's name but who??

You might contact businesses who currently make bricks and they could identify their predecessor. You might also try a museum or historical society for previous brick manufacturers.

You may have to ask a brick layer, or a mason. All bricks are stamped with the name of the manufacturer on them, when they are made.

No idea of what the 's' is but I betcha the 'bw' stands for Brick Works.
