"Everyone's going to come EARLY"

And can you please add WHY you think it's an adjective or adverb?

Thank you all so much.

Adverb. My 5th grade teacher taught me the phrase, "howly, whenly, wherely" to remember that an adverb is a word that tells how, when, or where and usually ends in "ly."

An adjective tells which, what kind, or how many.

I'm 36 now and still remember this from 5th grade!

Adverb because it adds more specific information on the verb (come) and it explains time. The word "early" is an adjective when it explains a characteristic, for example: Everyone is early.

Do you mean the sentence of your question? If so, it is neither. An adjective modifies a noun, and an adverb modifies a verb. The word "early" in the sentence does neither, and the way I indicated the word "early" with quotes is considered the proper way to do it, not with all capitol letters. Lawrence

Its an adverb. Adverbs describe verbs. In this case, the verb is "come". Everyone is going to "come" early. An adjective would be "She is an EARLY riser".

cheers

Early in this sense explains the time. Therefore, it is an adjective.

It is an adverb, modifying the verb "come". Answers the question "when" relative to the verb.
