Based on your size and speed I would suggest Offensive Tackle and Defensive End. I am 5'8" 165 and run a 5.1. I'm a frosh and play D tackle and guard.

I have been a youth football coach for 10 years and a big part of determinig your position is going to be what the other players look like . What are their sizes and strengths. You would be average size on most freshman teams but if there are 8 other guys that are 200lbs + then it will be hard to see you as a lineman . with your height TE , Safety, Corner , and even LB . The key is going out the first day of practice and EARNING the position you want . If you want to play TE catch everything thrown at you, and block every play until the whistle. If you want a defensive position go out and knock EVERYONE on there asses on EVERY play. The more you do better than everyone else the more valuable you are to the coaches. Your height is an advantage at that age your weight is average , and your speed is a little off but that will get better with practice , you cant change the other stuff much. Just go out and get the attention of the coaches by doing everything they ask. Those are the kids i look for the fearless ones , with average skills . It's my job to teach and make the skills better . Good Luck.

Well, in Uh-Hi-Ya, someone who is 5'11 and 165 would be considered a "skills" person(WR,RB,CB,S,QB and LB's). If you keep working on your speed, reaction time, and building muscle your coach will take notice. And believe it or not he is the best person to decide where you will fit in. Trust me at 165 you will be made into a ragdoll in the trenches. Unless your team runs a 5-2 defense and your the Defensive End on outside containment. Your body changes alot when your high school. Especially when your a freshman you have to prove yourself, that 5.3 will definantly come down. I was 6'2'' 245 as a freshman and ran a lame 5.6 and my sophomore year i gained about 10 pounds of muscle and ran a 5.1 that year i started varsity. Believe me i didnt work as hard as i should have either. Hopefully you've got what it takes. So good luck at whatever position you are chosen to fill and always give 100% cause you never know who is watching.

Free Safety. I was 5'9" and 165lbs in high school and played this position. You are basically the last line of defense, but with your size, you can dish out punishment to any receiver that ventures into your area. While the receiver is watching the QB, the ball, and the CB on him, you can go for a bruising tackle or interception. Good luck!!.

I think you are way too small for the line right now-both offense and defense. That means skill position. With your average speed, Safety might be a good fit or a small outside linebacker. You will grow and "fill" into a position.

It depends if you want to play on offense or defense. Judging from your stats, you could try out for fullback on offense. You have the right height, plus your not too fast nor too slow. If you love hitting, this should be the position for you. On defense, middle linebacker or nose tackle sounds like a good spot for you.

definately T.E. the only difference between you and my tight end is he is 155 pounds. trust me i love having him on my team he gives me a lot of time in the pocket cuz he is a great blocker and he has great hands for catching the ball plus he can easily break tackles. believe me you would be great for the Tight End position.
Incase you couldn't tell i am the Q.B. for my team.
