Michael Moore "The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'Insurgents' or 'Terrorists.' They are the revolution, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow and they will win."

George Carlin--"No. First of all, I'm not liberal. I'm just about (being) anti-United States. I don't like the way this country operates. I think we've ruined this place. And I think it's largely because of businessmen. And businessmen are not liberals. So if that makes me a liberal, then that's just an association. It's not a choice."

Janeane Garofalo--"Our country is founded on a sham: our forefathers were slave-owning rich white guys who wanted it their way. So when I see the American flag, I go, 'Oh my God, you're insulting me."-

A few examples for people who say "show me or hush"

However, blind patriotism is not what any country needs. I don't think that's what your question asks. I would agree with your statement, you shouldn't root for your country to loose a war, but you could root for them to not be in a war.

Personally, I understand and agree with the reasons to be in Iraq and I think we need to stay until the Iraqi's can take over and maintain order. That may be 60 years...which is the same amount of time we've been in Germany. We've also been in Korea for nearly 50. To ensure peace we may have to be in this for the long haul...liberals in our nation seem to not understand this.

That's functional: it is all approximately politics. We might support plenty of persons. We are the richest country on this planet according to capita. We can find the money for to support persons external of the US as good as quilt our possess disorders if we selected to take action. We do not, and the motive is politics. The Right believes that we have got to all pull up ourselves by means of our possess bootstraps one hundred% of the time. If you think whatever else, you are a communist. If you do not think that the totally loose marketplace works one hundred% of the time, you're a Marxist and are underneath contempt. Lots of persons worship on the altar of the Almighty Market. They say that the ones persons down there in New Orleans want no executive help. If there aren't any jobs, you move in which there are. The Market will furnish. If the Market does not, then the well Lord will. Or a few weirdo ideological nonsensical crap like that. To be reasonable, the Left on this nation is way more humane and being concerned than the persons at the Right will ever be. If the Right had been truly Christians (or another religion for that subject), they could become aware of that each one religions placed plenty of inventory into taking care of the ones much less lucky than you, and that still involves your country. If you doubt that, move learn Matthew 25 after which come again to the controversy.

No one is rooting for America to loose a war ....that is an American Citizen anyway.
I dont know where you get that idea or assumption from.....but I think the only people who want us to loose are the radicals in the middle east who are fighting us...and others around the world with the same radical views. Other than that, I think everyone else would agree that no matter what political affiliation, we want things to go smooth and ultimately be Victorious in any war we engage including this one. However...it's hard to support a War for the wrong reasons we went there, and shouldn't have even invaded Iraq!!!!

You assume it is a "war" how do you know it is not an act of aggression against a weaker country to steal thier oil? which is what it is...

get out of the WW II mentality, realize this was not an act of self-defense, do not support an act that is illegal and immoral and acts against the interests of the vast majority of our country (the troops included) and acts FOR a small elite of international robberbarons...

the best way to be on your countries side, i.e. the people (troops included) is to oppose this war and maybe you will contribute to saving thelives of some of the poor souls who have been ordered to go fight it...

but by believing the non-sense and the rhetoric is truely an act of misunderstanding the way the world works, any sense of history, and any moral obligations that are normal in the society in which we live.

peace.

The truth of the matter is, this is not our country. It belongs lock stock and barrel to the big business owners who determine pretty much how everything goes. They get ordinary working people to fight their battles for them so they can maintain control of their business interests around the world. Other countries have leaders who do the same with their ordinary working people. They don't care about us, sending us all out to kill each other so they can divide up the world. So the people you think want their country to lose, really just want the war to stop.

I don't root for the US to lose, I just think it's stupid that they are in Iraq and I'm not afraid to say so. You don't have to agree with a war to support the troops fighting it.

Because nobody really wins in a war. It's not a matter of winning or losing. If you think killing other human beings is "winning," then you're really a loser in the end.

Or as the bumper sticker sez, "Why do we kill people who kill people to prove that killing people is wrong?"

A great question. They do it for political reasons. If the war goes badly their party wins elections. Its sad but true.
