Ok, so the party is in my backyard. The girls are going to the pool across the street for the majority of the day, and later in the evening we are going to have a bonfire, and then they're camping out. Most of the party is planned but we need some time-fillers so no one is bored. And any ideas that could make the party more fun or interesting (themes, food ideas, games, ect.) are SO TOTALLY welcome!!! Thanks peeps!!!

Water balloons are always fun. Maybe toast marshmallows on the fire, too. Oh yeah, give the girls a video camera and tell them to film what they want, so you as a parent won't have to bother them. You could have an art contest or something see who draws the best picture or whatever. Umm play the usual like tag and stuff. As for food, don't go with the boring ol' barbecue - get all the fixings for pizza and buy pre-made pizza dough and let them create their own. That way, there won't be any complaints or anything.

get tons of stuff for makeover stuff, nailpolish, hair stuff, etc.,etc.
get a stereo out side tell them to bring cds of their own so they can dance and just listen to music.i've always wanted a party like that .take that persons camera suggestion i've done that it's fun.i'd love getting to do that stuff you've already got planned and i think that the stuff i said would end it well.have them do a fashion show with their makeovers.also make sure everyones happyand not being picked on.12 year olds can be cruel.

Make s'mores with graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows.
Paint toenails and do each other's hair.
Play freeze tag, telephone, other childhood games. Even 12 year olds like them.

Get that dance dance revolution thing. My neices love that. They are a little older than twelve. Its good exercise and they would LOVE it. Get a few of the mats.

Why plan every second of it? Let them entertain themselves. Children are pretty imaginative if they are allowed to be.
