I believe the government should should play NO part in this decision, but I do feel that the father's oppinion should play role.

I always look at it this way: it's going to happen anyway, whether it's legal or not. If it's legal, then the procedure is safe for the woman, and the fetus would not feel any pain. If it isn't legal, it's going to be done in back alleys with a coat hanger. Just because you outlaw something doesn't mean it's not going to happen.
However, I do realize the moral consequences of it. You are terminating what could possibly become a life. Partial birth abortions in particular are out of the question for me, unless in extreme circumstances (when it threatens the life of the mother, for instance). Therefore, I think that while it should be legal, it shouldn't be a decision made lightly.

At 20 years old I resented politicians and religious finantics telling me that I have to give birth. (And those finatics were mostly men who could conveiently walk away for the situation).
However, after giving birth to my first child at 25 I changed my opinion. Who is sticking up for the rights of the unborn child? It's not all about you. Give birth and give it up for adoption. But I do not belive you have the right to termiante a life before it ever began.
At 48 I believe we will never resolve this problem. Instead we must take away the stigma and ecourage adoption. Also prevent the pregnancy to begin with.

I think it needs to be looked at as an equal rights for the child. Why does our society value a woman's right to privacy over the child's right to life?
To say it's nothing more than a health care rights issue is being ignorant to the fullness of the issue.

It's not a right. She had her choice to spread her legs for some guy or not. And if she winds up pregnant, what gives her the right to end the life of an unborn child. Adoption. That's the way to go. And sooner or later these females will realize it's less dangerous on them to have the baby then to go get themselves scraped up and torn apart. Oh well.

It's the woman's right.
And can someone please tell the religious right wackos that there is nothing 'moral' about forcing an impoverished 13 year old child to give birth.
I was put up for adoption as a baby and was adopted by great parents, so I would certainly hope that every pregnant woman would at least consider that option, but they shouldn't be FORCED to do anything.

Personally, I do not believe in abortion but I should not make that decision for someone nor should it be the government's decision. Each individual must look within themselves for this answer and go with their conscience.
What I can tell you is that many individuals regret having abortions, and they have to live with that. People need to think hard and deep prior to making the decision to abort.

I believe it is the babies rights, to the Constitution,
The woman had her rights and she choice to have unprotected sex and get pregnant. So she involved her rights at that time.
Next no it is not a government right, since a right to an abortion is not guaranteed anywhere in the constitution.
So if anything it is a state issue.

definetly the womans right, if a woman is raped she shoudl not feel obligated to keep a baby, I understand there has to be some lines, like if a baby is being born and u kill it, thats murder, but if you fidn out yoru prego and you dont feel you can handle it, or dont wan tit, than have an abortion, i know its wrong to a point, but woudl you rather see a woman throw her baby in a garbage can or storm drain becaus eshe doesnt want it, or get an abortion and not harm anyone elses life, plus if you give a child for adoption, if the kid knows all thier life they will be confused and lost, but if they dont find out til they are older, they will feel abondned, and if they dont knwo at all, you will be lying to them, so what is right . . .nobody and everybody
