A good one this month would be The Cup.
It's about some young Buddhist monks trying to hatch a scheme to watch the World Cup on TV...........in the middle of nowhere in India.
Most of the movies I like are not that well-known.
I could easily list 150 of them......but I'm already tired of typing Answers for the last hour, sorry.
Try these:
Blue
White
Red............all in THAT ORDER!!!!! It's a great trilogy.
Magnolia
Not One Less
Legend of 1900
The Unbearable Lightness of Being......then read the book
My Life As a Dog
Babbette's Feast
The Dead
Stealing Beauty
Boogie Nights
Crash.........the Cronenberg film........NC17......so beware
A Clockwork Orange
Blue Velvet
Clerks
Dogma
Chasing Amy
Mystery, Alaska
Slapshot
Do You Believe In Miracles?..........a hockey documentary
Being There
Pandaemonium
Woodstock
Monterrey Pop
High Fidelity
Before Sunrise
Before Sunset.......in that order!!!!
ANYTHING/EVERYTHING with Juliette Binoche
Get Out Your Handkerchiefs
Going Places..........in that order....both with Gerard DePardeaux (sp)
Jean de Florette
Manon of the Spring............in that order
Lovers of the Arctic Circle
Amalie
City of Lost Children

"Stand and Deliver" from back in the late '80's... it has Edward James Olmos in it. It's about a high school math teacher who is completely determined to turn around his inner-city class of at-risk Latinos... excellent movie! And it's based on a true story, which makes it even better.
