Sperm lives in the female body up to 3-5 days. So, it can be days after sex that the egg is actually fertilized.
Then, it takes the fertilized egg about a week (usually 6-10 days) to get to the uterus and start implanting.
So, it can be anywhere between 6 and 15 days for the egg to *start* implanting. However, if she took the morning after pill, she shouldn't be pregnant. It is pretty effective.
One more consideration is that withdrawal--*if* done correctly--is more effective than most people think. Only 4 out of 100 women who use that for a year will get pregnant if the man times it correctly. (See sources section below.) The major problem with depending on withdrawal as a birth control method is that you can only determine that it's been used correctly *afterwards*.

Implantation bleeding can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms. About 6-12 days after conception, the embryo implants itself into the uterine wall. Some women will experience spotting as well as some cramping. Unfortunately, these symptoms aren't unique to pregnancy. Some can indicate that you're getting sick or that your period is about to start. Likewise, you can be pregnant without experiencing any of these symptoms. Other pregnancy signs include: 1. Implantation Bleeding 2. Delay/Difference in Menstruation 3. Swollen/Tender Breasts 4. Fatigue/Tiredness 5. Nausea/Morning Sickness 6. Backaches 7. Headaches 8. Frequent Urination 9. Darkening of Areolas 10. Food Cravings However if you want a confirmed answer on whether you are pregnant or not, what you can do is to take a home pregnancy test one week later after your missed period. Another alternative is to see a doctor and have a blood test taken.

As long as sex is involved, there is ALWAYS the chance of pregnancy; morning after pill or not. However, the morning after pill DOES decrease the risks.
As far as implantation is involved, this can happen from at the time of the sexual act until as late as days up the road or later.
She may want to go to her doctor and have a pregnancy test done to confirm whether the morning after pill did its job. Always look at pregnancy as "survival of the fittest". That cell is trying to survive and in some instances will do just that. I have seen some very interesting cases!!!
I wish you two the best of luck!!!

i cannot believe that there are still people out there who do not know how a woman becomes pregnant, come on guy if you had used protection or other forms of birth control you would not be in this situation. Yes, sperm can live in the female body for 7 days, there fore she can become pregnant within that time frame, I truly hope for your sake this is a lesson learned. It does not matter which day she is on her cycle either, there are 3 days in a month that a woman cannot get pregnant, so please be careful, and you better pray if you don't want a baby, geesh don't they teach sex ed anymore!

Withdrawal or not. There are few ways to avoid unplanned pregnacy. 1) abstinence(unlikely amongst adults), 2) use condoms every single time you are going to have sex. Even before if you are in the pre-ejaculation stage, PUT ONE ON. 3) Along with frequent condom use, she should consider birth control. there are several forms(pills, depo shot, foams, plenty of over the counter alternative). Above all, make sure that a spermicide is in the type of condom you use ALWAYS.

OK, semen/ejaculate can survive in the vagina for up to seven days, during which time the egg and sperm may meet and form a zygote. Taking the pill (plan b) can reduce the chances of fertilization but isnt guaranteed to do so; you will have to eait and see. She could be pregnant technically speaking, although it doesnt seem likely. Good luck.

I think you should be safe this time, but please try and be more responsible and use a condom. The morning after pill does not and should not take the place of birth control.
