Osama did. I guess you forget that prior to the 9/11 attacks it was legal to carry small knives and such on an airplane. They probably didn't even hide the box cutters because they were not concidered weapons at the time. That has since changed.

It was a joint effort for everyone, just follow the cash flow and you'll have you're proof. I know this isn't something anyone want to hear. And this is sometthing anyone has the power to chack up on. America from a political stance will not under any circumstances give in to terrorists. It's not in it's new found nature. If and whenever there is a threat of any kind the standard procedure is to check all sources of the threat. Afterwards if it is declared that it is a positve threat then it is needed to have those that are in charge of the company to take a vacation. In short those that are absolutely needed to run the company. It is not in America's bet interest we shut down everything we have for an unlisted amount of time. And it can not be made public knowledge that there is an attack out of fear of panic. If the American people shut down then America will become weak. America can not, should not, and will not ever appear weak to anyone for any reason. If a threat is made and nothing happens, then America lost millions and billions of dollars and also flinched to the enemy showing it's weakness. Upon showing weakness it is possible to lose more economic balance. It is fair to say people are just merely numbers in the end, and can be replaced. But, the economy can be wrecked and take years even decades to repair. Not to get too far off the point. America was warned about the attack on 9/11 but, it was not considered serious. Upon knowledge of the planes take over, it was deemed neccessary to evacuate the top stock holders, ceos, and presidents as standard prcedure. It was the hope that the planes would miss the buildings since it would take years of training for the accuracy. But, sadly America was wrong.

The first three. Well...to be fair, I bet George W Bush was kept pretty much out of the loop as far as the 9/11 op was concerned. The American end of the op was orchestrated by Cheney, George HW Bush, Wolfowitz, etc...the President certainly knew about it, but not even his insiders have any illusions about the man's intelligence. Using CIA as always, they got in contact with Osama Bin Laden and said, look, we want this, this and this to happen- we'll give you anything you want; how can you help us? And Osama was dumb enough to believe them, and helped with the operation. Maybe they told him the US would pull out of Saudi Arabia; who knows. But they double crossed Osama Bin Laden by blaming the 9/11 attacks solely on him. And all this just to get the Patriot Act passed, and to have an excuse to go after Iraq. By the way, Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. He had enough problems at home without getting involved in that, although I'm sure if he was asked -by either CIA or OBL- he would have done what he could.

tsk, tsk.....
You seem so angry against America. Do you live here or only hate what you don't understand? Maybe you forget that bin Laden said that he ordered the attack. So now he's innocent, a simple-minded pawn of the powerful Americans.... right.
Your lack of understanding is beyond shameful. You clearly do not understand how things work and fail to work if you think that airport security is beyond failure. Do you not remember that rules allowing items on planes such as small knives changed after the 9/11 attacks.
Not that our intelligence agancies didn't fail to identify and stop those hatefilled, deluded monsters... But you need more than failure to make a conspiracy.
Our invasion of Iraq should not have happened, even if the Bush administration's claims were correct. The truth is that Hussein was a danger to the Iraqi people. If the Iraqi people tolerated him, why should we step in?
Yet we never hear condemnation of Palestinian murders of Israeli civilians, ever. This includes the terroist assault of the Israeli Olympic team in Munich, Germany in 1972. (Or was that President bush's fault also?) We never heard condemnation of Syria's invasion, annexation and rape of Lebanon over the course of 20 years. We never hear condemnation of the crimes against mulsims by muslims throughout Africa.
Let's spread the blame a little, be a little more honest...

Partly Osuma, partly Attas.
Of the 19 hijackers 19 were stopped between Logan and JFK airports as being suspicious and fitting profile of terrorists, however instead of being detained the decision was sent up the chain of command at the airlines until it reached a high enough level and lawyers were consulted, fearing another lawsuit the legal departments ordered that they (hijackers) should be allowed to board with all their possessions. Sadly, the high security you encountered that day was part of a security exercise to prevent hijackings.

I am sitting here wondering why anyone would think our president could do that. Is it that since we aren't sure exactly who to blame we just fill in the blanks with anyone's name who we might not like or agree with? I can't say we have always been told the truth and yes we have been spoon fed some facts that are less than accurate but to plan the killing of innocent people is way out of line. Please explain to us why you asked this question. That might be more interesting than the question itself.

They say Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was the "planner" but who knows...The thing we should figure out is which country supplied the 9/11 plotters eventually spent somewhere between $400,000 and $500,000 to plan and conduct their attack, I think Saudi Arabia had something to do with it. But we ignore that entirely because it is the wrong question to ask.

hey dont lump all americans into this group,i think it was osama and his crew.but sad thing is americans are so suprised by that attack, while the bombing was wrong, our country has been sticking our nose into other countries business for years, and thinking we have the right to dictate what the world does and doesnt do.if anything comes from this sad event,it should be for america to stop and think before it butts into others affairs, whether right or wrong.
