People should be able to walk down the street or sidewalk and not have to hear or look at anybody's barking dog, or cats jumping over fences. If the pet owner's were as responsible as they say they are then their pets would be tied up or behind lock and key.

If you have ever wondered why you are a single mother, wonder no more. You obviously lack compassion and sensibility. If you don't want to hear the dog bark or you don't want to look at him, then don't walk in front of the house.

There must be people who don't want to hear crying babies (as a single mother, a child indicates the mother portion) in public places. Does that mean you shouldn't be able to take your child outside? Does that mean you have to muffle their cries while on your own property, or even in your own house? Please don't respond as I'm scared to hear your answers. I wouldn't doubt your child is either mentally abused or severely neglected.

Why can't parents be more responsible? I should be able to walk down the street and not have to hear or look at anybody's child screaming or crying. If people were as responsible as they say they are then their kids would be locked up in their room.

Nah, seriously, you just have to accept the fact that some people have pets and that some of them can be annoying, like I accept the fact that some people have kids and that they can be annoying. We all have to live together in harmony. Animals have the right to live too. They need exercise and barking is just their way of expressing themselves, like you talk. Keeping them tied up or locked inside all the time would be cruel and few dog owners are irresponsible enough to do such a thing.

People have the right to have pets and animals have the right to live. That leaves you with two options. Either you accept that and get used to it, or you don't accept that, don't get used to it and let it annoy the hell out of you for the rest of your life. You pick.

Excuse me I am very responsible and i have 3 Basset Hounds! If people have a problem with other people walking their dogs they need to get over it! A dog should not be tied up! That is cruel! Would you like to be tied to a chain? I think not! A dog should either be in a fence or in a house! You have no right to say that pet owners are not responsible! We are!

Actually, having pets tied up or "under lock and key" is the essence of irresponsible pet ownership. A responsible pet owner has trained and socialized their pet so there is no need for it to be locked up; it is part of the family and knows how to deal with people and other animals in a controlled manner.

Someone who ties their pets up is just as irresponsible, if not more than, someone who lets them run free.

Yah! I almost hit the neighbor's dog, it was so close I heard it yelp and scamper away. After work I checked on the neighbors to see if the dog was fine, and the animal was the first to greet me at the door with barking and acting all right. What a relief! But now they keep the dog in the house more :)

Have you ever tried to tie up a cat??? They are independent animals who like to roam! As far as dogs barking during the day what's the big deal besides you are walking by THEIR house if you don't like it then stay home!!!! In case you haven't noticed dogs don't use the toilet so they have to go outside!!! My dog is always on a cable and yes he barks cause people walk by our house constantly! You need to get over it and stop worrying about small stupid things!

Pet responsibility and education is important for all ,but are you this intolerant of people too?
I just read your response to the question of having other pets go with the woman who may need to put her dog down and was absolutely shocked at your inhumane response. Shame on you! Tolerance and respect is what our country seems to need more of starting with you.

you can't just think that dogs are ment to be locked up or tied up. a dog is a living thing too, would you like to be locked up or tied up? im sure you yell or scream (same as barking) too, and other people think its annoying. not to be mean or anything. but the dogs only bark because they are protective to their owners

I certainly hope you do not have any pets for I sure would feel sorry for them. No animal should live their lives behind bars or tied up. That is just plain torture and cruelty in my eyes.
There are towns that have a law against that and I am glad. And if you feel that way about animals I would hate to hear what you think about kids and how to raise them.
