I don't know the specifics of this, but it may have something to do with the Black Panthers' propensity towards violence. You might want to read Elaine Brown's "A Taste of Power: A Black Woman's Story" to learn more about the dark side of the Black Panthers (don't get me wrong, I think they did a lot of great things, but there's definitely another side to them).

The NBPP is considered by the Southern Poverty Law Center to be a "black racist" hate group, and even many of the mildest critics of the organization seem to believe that, at the very least, the NBPP's provocative brand of black nationalism undermines other civil rights efforts.

The black panthers are an extremely militant group who generally advocate violent means for segregation between white and black communties, and also socialist revolution. They are generally well armed with illegal weapons that the police force may not be able to handle if they decide to attack a government office

It is the same reason they do it for the KKK. The extremists in race issues are a little prone to violence. That's just the honest truth. I can't really say that I like or respect either side too much. I feel that they will both (hopefully) fizzle out in the near future.

The guard is called for the kkk too. Violence is why. People tend to want to start something to get attention or to prove something. Not necessarily the organizations but the ones who are against
them.

you see the national guard has to do something and if it is race related they will always be there. if you think about it they have been at every situation involvig the african-american race. its history replaying itself. what is sad is that the afms' that are in the guard are there to make a living and will pay the ultimate price for their role

I agree with Shalom....that's exactly why the guard is called out. Not because of the organization itself, but because of other ppl's reactions to the organization..

I suspect it is to keep order. They do the same thing when the KKK appears. Both are troublemakers and love to provoke any one opposed to their views.
You really need to take a remedial course in English.
