A pair of angry male rotweillers. they will take care of your family, also solve the prob with your mom-she will stop visiting and be grateful to go to a home at your new dogs prompting and it is unlikely that something bad will happen to these guys. you can also train them to keep your wife in tow. They could "herd" her when you're out and make sure she doesnt run away. There! ive answered all your probs. Think that deserves another 10points!:)

For a responsible pet owner, I believe that dogs are better pets. A cat just doesn't play fetch like a dog. Pets are a HUGE responsibility though. If you are a frequent traveller, you may want to re-think the pet idea as pets sometimes suffer from separation anxiety and kennel or boarding costs can be expensive. Good luck. If you do get a pet, treat it as part of the family.

Diffrent breeds of either suit diffrent familes. If your family has time to play with a dog then a dog is your best bet. A more laid back family would probally need a cat rather than a dog. I like both. My family has both, but they don't like each other.

We've got two cats and a dog...Golden Retriever. They all get along fine. Cats are far easier to look after though and can be left at home with food, water and a litter box when you go on short vacations.

I believe there are people who prefer dogs and people who prefer cats because they are SUITED to either (or both) of these animal companions. Persons who love a lot of interaction and the special affection and doting qualities a dog can give should have a dog. Persons who love a more independent animal companion should have a cat. Persons who love to love can have both! Seriously, you can actually check your affinity for either or both animal companions on the ivillage.com website. There are personality tests that can determine if you are suited for either or both animal companions. Yahoo.com also has personality tests to determine which animal companion would be best for your lifestyle and personality. Our little family consists of two parents...my life mate and myself and our six cat children. We are both the type of "parents" that enjoy the special love that only cats can give...both of us grew up in homes where love and affection were non-existent...cats have taught us how special love in our family can be!

I am sorry that something happened to your other dog. I would go with what the majority of your family would prefer, as it will be a family pet.

depends what you are looking dor in a pet. if you are looking for mans best friend than yes of course it is a dog. a cat is more honery but more independent, can take care of its self unlike a dog. Dogs are more protecters when cats are more.....not protecters. so it all depends on what you are looking for in a pet.
