I am a Germany supporter in England and last night someone jumped over my fence into my back garden and ripped a Germany flag from my second floor window.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

However, in Ireland (we are not racist) we never support England.
This is not because of the history (republicans don't care about Northern Ireland) but because the media always acts like the team has already won it.

I would not hate someone for supporting a team. I am an England supporter and if England are playing I support them nevertheless, but no matter the outcome of the match I will still be friends with people supporting other teams.

The people who bully others due to the team they support have a very narrow-minded view of the game in my opinion, as they cannot enjoy the football played by other teams, for example the attacking skill of Germany, and also cannot see the faults in their own team that would mean that they could lose, eg England switching off in their first game.

I hate patriotism in any form. Waving a flag is so militaristic. And England football supporters are the worst in the world. It's almost like organised crime when it comes to the World Cup. Every time it comes around, the police have to keep a close eye on the airports to make sure the usual suspects don't get to games and organise riots. Really doesn't make you proud to be British. During England matches I steer clear of the streets. Win or lose, there's nothing as offensive as an English football hooligan.

That was just plain stupid. Why even bother just beacause your a Germany supporter people are ripping down your flags.

I'm an England supporter and I love to see them win but I'd never think about vandalising someone's house beacuse the were German.

I'd never hate someone beacause they supported another Football nation or team. That's how prejeduice starts. I'd never hate an Argentine for beating us or a Brazilian or a German for that matter. I'll support against them with a passion but I'd never hate them.

Supporting England all the way! (without violence or stupid hate getting in the way)

That's is unfortunate, and on behalf of all good England supporters apologise. In all countries there are those that don't get it, but most of us do.
The reason why we want to beat you is because you are good, The best matches i have ever watched have been when people of different nations are watching the game in a bar, normally when i have been on holiday. Long may the games continue and good luck to everyone, even though you will lose at some point as we know England will win.

Sadly this sort of thing just shows genuine supports off in a bad light. Living in Glasgow the rivalry beween some clubs is bad enough but during the world cup it seems to be a genuine misconception that the scots are ALL against England, This is not the case, only 99% of them are. Sadly though England and its people are of the understanding that they can dislike and not be disliked back. It just isnt cricket. Still you with have the last laugh when you finally meet them and thrash the pants off them. Keep politics out of sport not just when it suits you but for good.

That's pretty childish. I am from Holland myself and there is a big rivalry between Holland and Germany when it comes to football but hate is such a big word. I certainly do not hate you.

During the tournament and especially should the two teams meet then it is tense. But you should also be able to relevate, whenever I go to Germany the people are nice and friendly and it is a beautiful country.

Hooliganism is a different thing, when hooligans start to get into action I do no longer regard them as supporters of a team but as criminals.

That is disgusting. Or maybe they liked the flag for themselves. That is the reason why I will not display any flag from either my windows or my car. Whom I support is my business. I mean... I don't go round advertising the party I voted for... so why should I with regard to the World Cup ? There is around here a white van with no less than 40 English flags on its roof. What does that mean ? That he is a better supporter than the English person who displays only one flag ?

I was in Kingston-on-Thames for the first two games I put a flag on the balcony to support England I had a phone call from owners of flat I was staying in telling me to take it down as it could upset people not from ENGLAND. Thank god I am back in Teignmouth for to-nights game so I can fly flags from all my windows I am lucky as you would have to be about 20 foot tall to reach my flags sorry that happened to you we are not all like that IDIOT. I am glad people like you support other nations its up to you who you support so carry on. Can you not hang your flag higher or maybe inside your window I know its not ideal but it will stop the flag being ripped down

Thats so0o0o0o0o stupid.

People get carried away. Like when people tip cars after the super bowl.

Its a game and people need to realize that at the end of the day weather your team wins or loses. Your still the same person and nothing has changed in your life.

I really dont follow sports but i would never not be a friend with someone cause of the teams they like or dislike.

I would like to point out to a few people that not all fans are hooligans.
I am so proud to be English and love haveing my country represented. I fly my flag with pride and joy. THAT DOES NOT MAKE ME A HOOLIGAN.
And I have a right to do so with out being critisised or judged.
The same goes for everybody else no matter what nation they follow.
Buy another flag and fly it with pride. That person was a jerk and gives us real fans a bad name.
