IT IS BASICALLY ALONG THE SAME LINES AS THE "BLOODY MARY" STUNT WE PLAYED WHEN WE WERE KIDS.

Well....here we go....I'll give you the short version....it started when "Candyman" was acused of killing someone, they chopped off his hand....honey was placed over his stomach and he was left to die...he was basically eaten alive by bees, hence the term "Candyman" and that's why during the movie you see the bees coming from his mouth and body. It was said that he haunted the people that took his life and was trying to kill their descendents as well....that's why he was after the girl and her brother...they were the last decendents. The only way to kill him was to break the mirror because it was believed that if you called his name 5 times he would appear and of course, kill you.

he was an evil ghost (spirit) made up of bees & debri...at the end the baby was burned in the bonfire at the festival...
