What right do we have to condemn illegal immigration considering how many Native Americans were killed and how many had their land robbed by white men so that we could condemn those who try to cross the border into a country where so much of the land was obtained dishonorably? If we are going to force immigrants to learn our history, shouldn't we remember that part of our history too?

Forget the ancient history. Throughout history, virtually every peoples of the world conquered and were conquered by some other people and this involves all racial and ethnic groups. What happened to the people who were in the Americas when the people you call Native Americans arrived?

This all water under the bridge and something to learn by, not to criticize, since the mores of the past are not those of today.

Right now the United States is a sovereign country and as such has the right and duty to defend it's borders from invasion, both large and small.

As Americans, we have every right to condemn illegal immigration and to capture and deport any and all people who attempt to violate the sovereignty of this country by illegally entering our space.

I totally agree but you have to remember who is freaking in charge. Personally, I think that the border patrol have to do something in order for illegal immigrates to enter our country. Currently, in the next two decades there will be more hispanic than the other minority. Please understand me that I could give a damn about this immigration issue but most Americans do and something has to be done.

Also, the deal with English as our language they should have to learn our language if they are willing to live in our country (illegally or legally).

This issue wasn't a big thing when Bush was in office just like that Janet Jackson "breastgate". Look what happen to Howard Stern and the reason why he is with Sirius radio. Touché.

I understand what you are saying. I don't think what was done 220 years ago is excusable but I think it can not apply now. Its a different time and there are different things to consider. We can remember it but we do not have to continue it. Maybe we learned it was wrong and are trying to correct it now? No, well maybe those people that took away from the natives did it out of a need to survive while the immigrants now days are not coming here to survive but rather to be leeches on a society that can not afford them anymore. Why can't they come here legally? Why in the condition we are in now do we need more people to drain our limited resources and burden taxpayers further? I'm not opposed to allowing immigration, but i think it has to be legal and superviesd and controlled we simply can not afford open borders anymore.

So we learned by our mistakes.........the natives have been paid and paid and paid for those mistakes.
They are my ancestors so I can say that.

As for illegals..........get out and stay out......till.........
you get legal, denounce your homeland, get Americanized, that is go to American Civics and History classes, also learn to speak English, and keep a clean neighborhood, stay away from gangs, stay off welfare and stay on probation for five years, then you can become an American Citizen if you are a productive citizen and the reviewing board says so.

Good thing I'm not making the laws for these would be it.

We fought for those states and won, now they are USA! We owe Mexico NOTHING.
I remember History........well..........

Frankly, I do not believe that anybody has forgotten who this country originally belonged to; however, it should be duly noted that illegal immigration and our Native American History have nothing in common.

Illegal immigration is just wrong...our president has not said that he wants to stop immigration, rather that he want immigrants to come to this country LEGALLY....

Because illegal immigrants are a drain on this county's tax paying, legal citizens. There's no excuse for illegal immigration to be taken lightly. If you're not a legal citizen/immigrant, get the hell out.

native americans are not the same as illegal immigrants

we have every right to condemn illegal immigrants; we arent living in the 1700s. illegals dont pay taxes, boost crime, and increase drug trafficking.

My Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather was David Crockett.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Crockett

He was so pissed at President Andrew Jackson for "evacuating" the Native American Indians from the "Five Civilized Tribes" out of Tennessee and other Southern states.in the infamous Trail Of Tears http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trail_of_tears

that he seceded himself as a United States citizen and moved to Texas.

Unfortunately he died in the Alamo helping to protect Texas from Spanish/Mexican imperialism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Alamo
