I believe so. So many are insecure of themselves or do not have the support from friends and family so therefore become homophobic. I have met two individuals who were hardcore homophobes who called me many derogatory names, but later to find out they were gay themselves.
Sometimes this is what it takes for someone to find their true selves.

I think some homophobes are closet homosexuals. They are terrified of being what society deems unsavory that they go to the other extreme, in the hopes no one will find out. Remember the old quote..."I dost think you protest too much" ?

i agree. my X-bestfriend let go of our friendship when he found out i was gay. it was way back in college then. i did a lot for him that made him pass his classes and his OJTs. 3yrs of friendship and he let it go just like that. And we met again and he was all giddy that we met again after more than a year. He gave me his number. Seems like he missed me. And when we were still bestfriends he opted me to watch porn with him, go to the shower with him and look for me all the time. So his being homophobic was just pathetic. He was goodlookin' but all the feelings I have for him where basically 'brotherly' and nothing more. I tell you. Nothing more.

While some people may be afraid of their sexuality, most people are turned of by homosexuality by nature. It's an unnatural act that goes against procreation.90+% of people are straight, despite what hollywood tries to make us think.

Well.....in my years of sucking the cock.....I have found that sometimes closet doors swing both ways. I have found this to be proven by years of kneeling in bathroom stalls. Once at a truckstop a "homophbic" man said "come outside with me ****** so i can kick your ***." When in all actuality he slamed my ***. Why does this happen? well lets be honest with ourselves......everbody want a peice of ***.(answered by a gay male with a degree in but darts)

Unfortunately, most homophobes are closet cases...bitter that they deny their identity and want no one else to be different than they. Sad pitiful people.

20% of people are gay, but only 5% are practising gay's. latent homosexuality is 15%, in other words 1 in 5 are gay but only 1 in 20 do something about it, Hey man what's your brother doing right now. you know Timmy was ******* his sister and she said hey thats bigger than dad's and Timmy said yeah so mum tells me.

A few might be, but as a rule, I honestly don't think so. To me 'homophobes' are merely closed minded people who don't have any patience for people unlike themselves.

Yes, many are or fear that they are. This is especially true among teenaged boys who aren't sure about their sexual orientation yet so they try to make themselves look macho by tormenting gays.
One of Bush's biggest propaganda writers against gays turned out to be a male prostitute.

read biographies of many homosexuals. Some do recall their own plights with homophobia, and it all stands to reasons given their social climates.
