Should we better stay home?

Republican John Hostettler from Indiana made the following statement: Canada hosts an abundance of terrorists, and as many as 50 terrorist organisations. This is an insulting statement if you are a Canadian. Is it the general oppinion of the american public that canadians are a danger to american security and that they should stay north of the border for the time being?

Don't worry about it. We all host an abundance of terrorists, etc. It is just your turn in the limelight, in an election year.

Old news, Canada has been used as a portal to the States for drug dealers, illegal alien smugglers, arms smugglers and others for many years. Not the fault of the Canadian people, We have the same problem with our border with Mexico. Just some more flag waving, paranoid malarkey from one of our 'leaders'.

It's our own fault for tolerating our government's interference with other countries' affairs and taking sides in the middle east. We've made our bed, now we'll have to sleep in it.

Not the general opinion of the American people, to be sure. Personally, I feel that the terrorists are taking advantage of Canada's open society and lax border security. Just don't allow your country to turn into a police state like the USA, once you lose your freedom, it's gone for good.

no its not the opinion of Americans. the statement was based upon fact, he was stating a fact not intending to offend Canadians. If you are a Canadian and feel offended, go home and wait for the US to finish off the Iraq situation and put an end to terrorism, when that is done your welcome to return.

I do not find Canadians dangerous, I do find all but a couple that I have met to be pompous, arrogant & judgemental of United States.
