As you are aware Mr(s). Sky, New Years would be missed because of it being both a holiday and birthday. It makes for a great 'resolution' day because of those two facts. Not saying that the resolutions are always followed, but some added incentive is
provided because of the significance of the day.

Ok this is hard. I'm a creature of habit. I start a tradition......and I have to do it every year or it just feels incomplete. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the way you want to perceive it) my daughters have become the same way. Christmas has to be done a certain way with the same traditional get togethers and celebrations or it feels .....well......"wrong." We have Valentine's traditions.....spring break traditions.....Easter, 4th of July, Back to school shopping, Birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving......etc.!! I can't imagine cutting out a single one and feeling complete. But I will speak to the one we lost this past year. Hurricane Dennis hit last summer and caused my girls and I to have to cancel our family vacation. We hadn't gotten away together in over a year. To start the school year without that "getaway" was hard on us all. They of course understood and were more concerned for the victims than for themselves.......but how many times during the year I heard them say.......I so miss going to the beach. I suppose I was raised on the water and now my kids crave it as much as mom. So we made a special effort and went in March. I can't explain the holes that were filled by this trip. The "bond" it gave us alone made me feel complete. So I'd have to say......our annual event would be.......our family beach trip. :)

The annual Balloon festival in Readington ,NJ..
What a sight to see,the balloons fill with hot air, going up..lighted at night , plus tons of activities, food , and fun.
But the best,,,free concerts...you can pay 40 bucks for a seat close to the stage or sit on the lawn a little further back and enjoy a full size show...Hall and Oats...KC and the Sunshine Band...Foreigner...those were the last ones I went to..was sick last year and it felt wrong not being able to go.
Going again this year....have to , just have to.

The Vancouver International Jazz festival. Tons and tons of wonderful music from all over the world, including many free shows. Way better than Christmas! No stress, no shopping, no plastic Santas, just loads of good music. A feast for the soul.

I actually quit a job at a hospital because it was my turn to work Christmas. I had other reasons, but that was the big one.

I love Christmas.

I can't imagine missing Christmas or the 4th of July...or my kids' birthdays.

That would totally mess up my year. Geeze, I never thought of that before, thanks for giving me a new phobia.
