go online to places like cheaptickets.com , hotels.com etc.
Then instead of making your reservation through the one with the lowest rate, call the hardrock and ask them if they have any rate specials. See what they say, then tell them you have a rate quote from ___________ at $______ do they have anything better to offer.
I had a friend who did this (not with hardrock) and got a way better rate doing this method.

The Universal Hotels are some of the most expensive hotels in Orlando, so you are going to have a hard time finding really low rates.
If you are just wanting a room then you can call Universal or your travel agent and they will be able to get you the best rates. The same is true for packages and you will find that your travel agent or Universal will have the best deals for a package, over the other "online discounters"
