If you can avoid that ridiculous APR AT ALL, please do so. I've been in your shoes...unless you can HONESTLY see yourself paying it off in a much shorter timeframe, don't settle for that APR. I have kinda crappy credit too and I got a 9.9% with VW Credit. These dealers are like sharks for young kids with bad or no credit history. Don't give in. Buy a beater or a motorcycle or something cheap and SAVE your money. And in the meantime get what's called a "secured card" from CapitalOne or something. There's absolutely no risk, you're gauranteed approval, and it will boost your credit if you're responsible. MUCH better to do that and wait to buy new than lose literally thousands in depreciation AND that ridiculous interest rate. Also do this. Look up an "auto loan ammortization calculator". Plug in your numbers, and it will tell you just HOW MUCH interest you'll be paying over the life of the loan. Make sure you're sitting down. Then think to yourself, is it WORTH that amount just to have a new-er car? Especially one with that much mileage. And keep in mind, for the first few years of a car loan, you're pretty much ONLY paying interest, it's later in the loan that you actualy start paying down the principle. Don't give any mind to what they TELL YOU to get you in that contract. Every salesman will tell you "oh you can refinance, you can trade up, blablabla"....they don't tell you you'll be immediately upside down for at least 4 years.....

It's $516.67 per month....It's $20,000 X 6% is $1200. per year
$1200. X 4 (four years) is $4800. Total loan is $24,800...then divide it by 48 months...gives you your payment........
