I just got a summer job as a waitress, but before I start my boss wants me to get a liquor licencse to be able to pour drinks at tables. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I didn't know waitresses needed a liquor licencse, so how do I get one? He said something quickly about filling out forms at the police station.

Unless you are opening you're own club or restaurant you do not need a liquor license to serve alcohol. I have been in and out of the restaurant business for a few years and that is definately some wrong information. Best of luck..

The establishment must have a liquor license to sell drinks, but the employees do not need one. However, to serve liquor you must be 18 years or older, at least in my state.

NO, the establishment serving the liquor needs a license not the waitresses.

I own a restaurant and that is completely bogus. The rules are you must be 18 to serve. I employ 2 18 yr old in my restaurant and I have had the ABC board in hear and I am doing everything right.

Yes you do need a liquour license. If your boss wants you to have one he should be the one to tell you where to go get one and he should also have to pay for it.
