Open up My Computer then right-click on the C: Drive and choose properties. This tells you how much free space is on your HDD as well as how much you have used.

PC? Open | My Computer | right click your C: Drive (Local Disk) | Properties.
The reason I am having you go to properties is, here you will find the necessary tools to keep your drive up to par.
Regularly (weekly) do a disk cleanup and under "tools" check disk and Defrag.
