People see poor spelling as a lack of education, and in some cases if the poor spelling occurs in a document of some kind, the utter laziness of the person to use spellchecker and/or a dictionary. Also, a poor speller should always have a good speller proofread the piece specifically for spelling.

With the technology available today, there really is no excuse for poor spelling.

Good luck.

Interesting, isn't it, how our brains make us see and understand the words as we think they are, and not as they really are. Here is a poem I share with people here quite often and you might find it interesting .....

When the English tongue we speak
Why is break not rhymed with freak?
Will you tell me why it’s true
We say sew, but likewise few?
And the maker of a verse,
Cannot rhyme his horse with worse?
Beard is not the same as heard,
Cord is different from word,
Cow is cow, but low is low,
Shoe is never rhymed with foe.
Think of hose and dose and lose,
And think of goose and yet of choose,
Think of comb and tomb and bomb,
Doll and roll and home and some.
And since pay is rhymed with say,
Why not paid with said I pray?
Think of blood and food and good;
Mould is not pronounced like could.
Wherefore done, but gone and lone -
Is there any reason known?
To sum up all, it seems to me
Sounds and letters don’t agree.

Written communication is very important, especially in the business world. If you can't spell, it makes you seem less intelligent. Spelling is definitely a skill you need to master.

I've read something on that. That if you put the first and last letter of a word in the right place, then juimble up the rest you still read it almost without realizing it...At least I did when I read that...

If you ever want to get a decent job, it's a good idea to learn how to spell. If they see something misspelled on the application, it will go in the trash bin.

It does matter for common fact that its annoying actually seeing wrong spelled words, but our brains only actually process the first and last letters, that how we can understand it when you types sentences like this: I cna't beleive tihs. yuore undresatnding tihs.

:)

Belive me, it does matter if you can spell correctly. When you don't, it makes you look lazy and ignorant
