because that would be too much reality for people to take, they like transporting themselves to a world of fantasy while watching soaps and that would bring too much real life into it.

Because soap operas are dramatic. The only way to make a dramatic bathroom scene is with a fight, or if the person runs out of toilet paper.

They only do that, when it's part of the plot. No one, ever has milk and sugar in there tea of coffee either, takes up time.
So most things we all do in real life, get dumped. No one ever sits down and eats a whole meal, with all the re-takes, the actors could be eating all day.
Ever notice that when the main stars sit down to eat, they are often called away, on some emergency or another.

Wow that was a good question, but not one I would have thought about. Well soap operas are about beautiful people with shallow lives who have affairs, lie, steal, and are basically like everyday people.
