The oil that if not supressed would pay for the war and increase the likelihood of victory in Iraq for the US, yeah that oil...

You are a Lawyer? god... help us. US is oil corporations dude, the people certainly are not US we overwhelmingly want OUT OF IRAQ, every poll shows that. The oild PRODUCTION is being supressed not by "terrorists" (Iraqi people who don't want us to kill thier children, go figure) but by the oil ministry whioch certainly is under US (i.e. corporate) control. How did you ever get into law school? It must have been a long time ago, when the bramble bush was still a sapling.

The only people suppressing Iraq's oil production are the terrorists. Iraq's oil was never a major world source.

Saudi Arabia has been very astute in solidifying its presence in the oil market, and would not collapse unless the demand for oil were to drop rapidly. With China and India coming into their high-oil-use years, the US could convert to ethanol 100% (as Brazil just did) and nothing would happen to OPEC or Saudi Arabia.

The United States does not control oil. The international oil companies, most of which started as US oil companies, do. And they have controlled the US government for two or three decades now.

No they would not collapse. My guess is that Iraq would probably join OPEC. There are many many countries in need of oil. The oil in Iraq would help but at best may being prices down a little.

I don't think so. They won't collapse, but they may not be able to sell their product for the same amount of money unless they decrease their own production.

However, I would imagine that Iraq would have to produce a great deal of oil to make Saudi or OPEC sweat.

What would make Saudi and OPEC worry is if we uncapped all the wells in the United States that has oil in them and started pumping. We have more oil that we have never used. Its there all drilled and ready to go, but the oil company's can make more profit from importing oil so the do. From that I think that they are organized crime.
