My wife had a pre-cancerous tissue removed and has been on Tamoxofin since. Recently there has been a lot of stress and as a result she started to take Kalms tablets to help. However, the GP would not say do not take Kalms, but was cautious by saying that they were not proven in clinical tests.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse. I am sick of the medical profession and their horty attitude about herbal medicine. the reason they don't like us is because we help where they can't. They lose patients and money and so do the pharmaceutical companies who make the drugs. Kalms contain Valerian and i think passion flower. If she was going to have side effects it would have shown up by now. Valerian is safe unless you are taking sleeping pills. if you want to talk about it further e mail me but give me your e mail address for a reply.

I would advise your wife to find an alternative to Kalms. They may be herbal, but they are still addictive.

I would say that it is better to face the stress & fight it face on rather than resorting to medication to mask the problems. All medications come with side affects, damage after long term use etc.

I wish your wife good health.

I am not familiar with 'Kalms'. What is in it?

By the way, did your GP tell you that Tamoxifin is PROVEN to NOT be safe for some women? In the short term it may reduce the risk of breast cancer, in the long term it can increase the risk for other cancers.

she should ask her GP or a pharmacist or oncologist to recommend something to relieve her stress. I don't think she should try the Kalms with Tamoxifen under the circumstances....

You and your wife should talk to your oncologist.
Combining medicine is never safe without the knowledge of what you're doing.
Some medicine counteract other medicine.
You're talking about chemical science and your wife's life, both are not to gamble with in my opinion.
