To a show of your favorite local band, once there you will be amongst people with similar musical taste as yourself, then maybe some conversations could arise. For instance, you could say what you play and tell some folks that you were looking to get in a band... then people talk. Otherwise you could look in your local city (or town) rag, the weekly paper thing every town has and reply to some ads. Most of the time it is mental, I would rather wait for someone to learn an instrument from knowing nothing at all, if they had the right ideas about what the music should sound like, than I would try to get with the people who bounce around from band to band like a hired gun... so it is about association.

craigslist has people looking... but I am a people person and I believe the best thing to do is just go to a show and meet others who have that connection, that agreement about what "good" music is.

best wishes.

Put notices up on local bulletin boards for anyone interested in starting a band...it won't be long and you'll have a band :)

Good Luck...I hope I hear you on the radio soon :)

ok..first...i would get skilled at playing whatever u want to play...
then i would either put up flyers saying that u are looking for a band...u could also find friends with connections to owners of places so you could set up a mini concert to play a solo at where ever you are playing......
