How much would you be happy to pay for a work of leadlight say 1meter sq? For those that don't know what leadlight is its pictures of something made of coloured glass. Say something like a beach scene or a naked woman or a frog in a tree...something like that. What is a reasonable price for a quality window piece of that size?

The glass alone can be very expensive...like say a piece of orange opalescent glass of 300mm x 270mm costs you around $22 AUD and then there is the Lead and foil and solder and your time etc etc. I can't imagine that even a really crappy piece of that size would sell for only $50 or $100 anywhere in the world.

Well, wouldn't it depend on the number of pieces of glass within that item as well as the workmanship put into it? And, of course, your reputation as an artist is also a factor.

However, in U.S. dollars, I'd say a simple piece would start about $50 and a more complex one would start at $100. But it could go up much higher, of course.

Update: Please forgive my ignorance. I didn't realize the supplies were so expensive. As I said, I could already imagine pieces of that size going for much higher. I live in a town that hosts one of the largest art fairs in the world and know that many artists must create a quanitity of "lower end" items (such as mugs for ceramic artists) for their bread and butter along with the pricier stuff, so I was trying to picture what the "low end" items might sell for. But, now that I think of it, I'd imagine those items would be smaller. So add me to the above response that puts it at starting at $300.
