Racism! The color of the blood that circulates through our body is Red. So each and every human being is equal. The only thing is some have power and some have impotence, some are rich and some are poor. But everyone will die, the only truth in our life.

I think that on a large scale we must first define racism. Racism is "the belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others" (dictionary). Another definition says it is "abusive behavior towards members of another race" (dictionary). These are just two examples of what racism is. The first definition relates to the history of mankind. Man is generationally evil, and being so sparks hatred towards others. What we must do about this is hold onto self control because we can control the way we act toward other people. Love really does conquer all. People cannot help the race they are born into. My being born a mainly African american female with differentiation in my heritage does not make me superior to somebody that is just "generic" to their race. Racism comes in many forms, and in the United States it is most prevelant towards African Americans on many levels, though that may be generalization. We cannot avoid racism as long as it is still in hearts of people unwilling to relent from their hardened hearts. We however cannot join this cycle, we have to perserver towards a united world in which racial discrimination is a thing only heard of in a history textbook. Although this might take several years to accomplish, we can help start it right now. Why do we sit with "our own" when we enter a room? Let's be different, reach out, and stop the cycle.

To the poster above one rae is not the answer. If there was one race we would still create rascism through skin tone and social status. back to the question though, rascism is wrong point blank.

I'm studying immigration right now in one of my classes, and have decided on my own that racism will never stop. It gets less and less noticeable, but I don't think it'll ever completely fade. You have also probably noticed that it's the uneducated that are racists. My boyfriend is a car salesman and has told me he was showing a car to someone, and out of no where the guy starts talking about jews! What is his problem? Could he honestly not even have the courtesy to wonder if he should keep his mouth shut if he's going to think like that?

racism is something created by a pack of people a long time ago who were molested at a young age and needed a way 2 forget about it so they excluded other races and laughed at them 2 make them feel as bad as they did. and for some twisted reason it worked so they told other ppl about what they did that worked and they kept doing it and eventually lots and lots of ppl did it. then some ppl finally came 2 their senses and saw that it was wrong and tried 2 stop it but the molested ppl kept doing it against the naysayers' will. and to this day the war between the molested ppl and the naysayers still rages on and in the mix, ppl from other races r being excluded by the molested ppl and recruted by naysayers.
in other words... racism is done by sad, sad ppl who really need help

I don't think it can be avoided at all. I think the best thing we can do is just try to ignore those of us who are stupid or ignorant enough to be racist, do the best we can to hold nothing against those of a different race and just try to get along. I have nothing against other races but I'll be honest, when I see a first nation's (for example, nothing against them specifically) family walking down the street, the first thing I think of is all the jokes and comments and rude things people say about them drunks crack heads poor people all those things. I think them first but I don't hold it against them. If they asked me for the time I'd give it to them just the same as an, asian, blakc, white, polish, whatever family! Just treat everybody equally, that's what I think.

It's wrong, everyone is equal and if people would look beyond the color of ones skin then there wouldn't be so much hate filled racism in the world, and I think that even though there is more racism today than there was way back when, it just needs to stop because no one deserves to be discriminated upon just because of the color of their skin or heritage.

It's always gonna be all around us. It is unfair for people of different cultures and ethnic backgrounds, but we will just have to deal with it. It's part of life. Racism is mostly common here in the US I think, because it's usually the white people who think that this is their country, but so many cultures are being involved with America that the more people we have the stronger the hatred and the comments (racism).
We will all have to deal with it at some part of our life.

there will always be a group of people that think that they are better than other groups of people. it comes from our ancient tribal thinking that outsiders are different and being different is bad, evil, dirty, stupid, unholy. there was an experiment a teacher did in the early 1960's. she separated her grade school class into 2 groups: kids with blue/hazel eyes and kids with brown/dark eyes and said the blue eyed kids were better(because they had blue eyes). the racist pattern started almost immediately between the kids. her experiment almost got her fired but it proved that that kind of thinking is in humans from a very early age. it will never go away, human nature.

nope. it is unavoidable.
it has nothing to do with skin color.
it is how you dress, how you act, how you talk, your personality in general.
even if we were all blue, we would still have segregation.
people who wear hats would hate people who wore lab coats, and people with gold chains would hate people with ferraris.
its just the tribal instinct that is human nature.
we are meant to be wary of different tribes (or in this case social groups, which are at the moment very race-related)
i dont hate black people, but i hate "thugs" with a passion.
i dont hate spanish people but i cant stand spanish gang members
i dont have anything against white people, but i hate white trash more than any other group of peopl out there.
people hate people for reasons that have nothing to do with color.
it just so happens that color is a very high factor in determining a social class.
