distance = rate times time or
d = rt
r = (x+100) mph
t = (2x+3) hours

d = rt
d = (x+100)(2x+3)
Use FOIL
d = (x)(2x) + (x)(3) + (100)(2x) + (100)(3)
d = 2x^2 + 3x + 200x + 300
Combine like terms
d = 2x^2 + 203x + 300

Do you mean "If a cyclist is travelling at x + 100 miles per hour, how far can be travel in 2 * x + 3 hours" ?

Distance travelled = speed * time

Distance = (x + 100) * (2 * x + 3) = 2 * x ^ 2 + 203 * x + 300 miles
