No...file a fraud claim and put his butt in jail...if you are not together...or even if you are and he forges your signature and uses your identity to obtain credit it is fraud.

Ahhh...I read it incorrectly...it depends on the state you live in and if he you were living at separate residences, ext...if he moved out before getting the card you could claim that he only got it and used it to take advantage of you paying half.

Yes, I believe so if you are still legally married. You should see an attorney or go to a legal aid clinic so that you can file a statement saying you are no longer legally responsibile for his debt. You should also seek a divorce and alimony and child support if there are children. Even if he refuses to pay, once you have the court order you can have his paycheck garnished and put a lien on any future property he buys. If you have been married to him for 10 years or more you are entitled to a percentage of his Social Security when he retires.

I don't know about NY state laws, but if it is in his name alone, generally he will be responsible for the debts. She should file for divorce though, and in a hurry, before he goes and tries something using HER name.

well legally if you are still married yes but there different law in every state you need to file for divorce or contact and get some Legra advice about this

I hate to tell you this but... YES,,

My sister in law is even divorced from her husband for several years and the IRS is still garnishing her wages for tax money he didn`t pay..

That is the reason for A LEGAL separation..

depends on ur state i think, some require u to run an add in the news paper stating that u are not responcible for the person
