I'm not particularly strong on modern Yugoslavian history but I did French history as part of my degree and know how to pick out useful books. Having taken a quick look at what is available on Amazon UK, I would highly recommend Alastair Finlan's "The Collapse of Yugoslavia 1991-1999". He lectures in International Politics at Aberystwyth. I have checked the contents page of this book and it seems exactly what you are looking for. Tesco has it for £6.99 (online). Once you have started with a reputable but concise book in subjects such as history, you can then refer to the book's bibliography for further interesting books on the same subject.

Hope this helps.

I live in Hungary and we used to share borders with the former Yugoslavia. It's so strange. It all happened practically next door and I've never thought that there could be a book about it while it seems to be so natural, we take it kinda granted that there are books on 9/11.
How strange!
Sorry for messing up your question, you just made me think. Thanks.

If you're looking for personal accounts, then I would highly reccommend "Zlata's Diary." Its about a girl who keeps a diary during the war. I have previously read it and it is quite good. Hope this helps : )
