Are lulu.com or AuthorHouse reputable? Any other reputable "Self-publishing" houses?

Check out http://www.lulu.com you can publish your writing there for free...they'll even tie your writing in with Amazon.com. It's pretty cool.

If you go the publisher route: you have to split the royalties, but you have access to all their resources and they help with the technical stuff. However if you have the capacity to convert it to a pdf file yourself, it's very easy to self publish. I did it with my free ebook Sisters Mothers Daughters. Once I had it set up in word and converted into the pdf, I uploaded it on my site. By doing so, it was given its own address, making it easier to share. Since mine is free. I just put it on my site for whoever to download. But since you would like to sell yours you could send the address to those who bought it. It would be an easier sell because some people don't like to accept attachments from strangers. If you would like to see what I've done--here is the address

try a web page ... i use freewebs they seem to have a few more options ... i find publishing on line has more to offer music animations a story can move and come alive.

create a blog on your own. peruse sites such as www.blogger.com and afterwards you're free to publish your writings.
