it was bought befor 2001, and was more curious as to what the k"p" meant.

It means that it's gold plated.. Which means it isn't real gold.. Just the outside layer is real gold.. The inside is just metal.. That's why when you see a "P" it means not all gold.. Just the outside layer..

Karat Plumb - What does it Mean?
