I have about 30 or so movies in my Windows Media Player. How can I get those burned to a DVD?

Use the software that came with your DVD writer. If these are avi files that you downloaded they may not convert to mpeg which is what your DVD writer software has to do before it can make a DVD to be played in any TV's or PC' DVD player. This meaning it will come up with a title screen like a store bought DVD.

If you just want to back up the movies to DVD use the DVD writer software that came with the DVD writer. You will be able to still watch the movies on your PC. Unless you have a Phillips model DVP642 which will play most avi files just by coping them to a blank DVD.
