for the last years ive always gotten the basic dreams that someone was following me and me running away from that person, so i got to the point were i was sick and tired of getting these dreams so i began to think to next time stop running and comfront this person. the other day i had a 30 second dream of a man, it was 'him' the man that always followed me and he was standing only about 10 feet away staring at me. he was skinny, younger than me, dressed all in black with a black cowboy hat on. he was blonde with long hair. in the quick dream i wasnt scared, nor was i ok. he was just there standing staring at me...what is the dream suppose to mean? i mean more profoundly, not general 'you confronted the man' but i mean more psycological?

well in my past dreams i always ran away from him because i felt he was going to get me, i dont know kill me or whatever. so it was more like nightmares than regular dreams of someone following me.

about talking, it would actually be interesting to try to do it. but other times i have even bigger dreams where its not a person that is following me but more like a monster, an object, something un human that i cant handle so i escape even more not even thinking of confrontitng it. these dreams on a man following me i would actaully try to speak to him next time, good idea.

People in your dreams represent aspects of yourself. There are some exceptions when it may actually represent someone outside of yourself, but this one is most likely all about you.

Ok you said you were running away and felt like he was going to hurt you. This man represents an aspect of yourself that you are running away from. These are unconfronted fears within. All that you have felt and seen from this dream comes from inside of you, not outside. You are the source of it all.

Our dreams are of symbolic language to help us know who we are and to grow by working through issues, take guidiance, inspiration, creativity, and more. Things get played out, acted out to show you what is going on inside of you with regards to your fears.

The truth is there is really nothing to be afraid of within. Nothing inside of you can ever hurt you, unless you want to, but the truth is you don't have to be afraid anymore.

In order to eliminate these fears, they are like shadows, we must first find them, be aware of where they are and then give our love (shine our light) to make these fears disappear. Light on shadows disolves them. That is all you have to do. So make the confirmation within yourself that you have total unconditional love, acceptance and no judgment towards yourself. This leads to greater peace.

I too have had an occasional dream dealing with all sorts of negative things, but I never ever label them as nightmares and nor do I wake up feeling bad about them. I am detached and just only mostly aware of their existence. They do not define who I am, nor do they tell me what I am supposed to feel as feelings especially the ego's feelings do not have control at all, I control my ego.

Establish who is in control here, you or the ego? It is the ego that holds onto fears because it does not like to take responsibility. Hope that helps!

The man who was running after you. The cowboy. He is probably portraying someone from your past. Maybe a friend idol or icon. Some one who you might have looked up to or gotten along with. They are trying to get your attention. Racing after your life for a reason you know but haven't realized. They can't keep up with you. Your fear is because you don't know why they are chasing you. Why they are trying to keep up with you. You ask your self this over and over again. Or more likely your subconscious does.
The next dream, when you confront him. He's skinny, maybe a teenager because he is younger then you. Blond hair that may mean that his intentions for chasing after you are fair like the blond hair. He is standing far away from you. He's scared of you now. He doesn't want to confront you right away because he is afraid what you might think of him. You two are looking at each other, but not speaking. There is a barrier between you two. Something that keeps you apart.
That's all.
But a question for you. If you did confront him. Spoke to him. What would he say. Or would he be able to talk at all. Would you?

It sounds to me like the dream is just extension of a certain fear that you might have. The man represents this fear and since you have confronted him you can see that he was harmless. Maybe something has been holding you back in life, an irrational fear of some sort, and now is the time to walk through it. That is a somewhat simple explanation, but I think for one to find the true meaning behind their dreams, they must identify their emotions surrounding specific characters and situations in the dreams. It's really a subjective thing that no one can give you a definitive answer to.
