Letting him watch TV is fine! It is a MYTH that TV is bad for children. I actually read an article about this. TOO MUCH TV is bad for OLDER children because it keeps them from doing other more physical activities (ie playing outside, bicycle riding, etc...) which leads to a sedentary lifestyle, which causes obesity and health issues. This DOES NOT APPLY to babies!! Babies cannot go outside and run around! So, it doesnt make them sedentary. The lights and sounds are stimulating to your baby. So it is actually GOOD for him because it is stimulating his brain, which promotes his development. The problem occurs when people take a general principle "tv is bad for children" and apply it unthinkingly without considering the reason WHY the principle was made in the first place, not using common sense. Dont worry about the TV. It's totally fine!

yes he doesnt know whats going on he is just so attracted to the lights.30 min is long time for him u know the lights will hurt his eyes being that young. try to let him watch it for few min only then turn it off. i heard on Tv that we shouldnt let babies under 5 years old to watch TV for long time cause it limited their brain and development..baby is born to play and develop not to watch tv.
