Thank for the answers all. I disagree that we need to eliminate holiday. I, for one, think we need to make more 3 day weekend (like labor day and good friday). These holidays turn the economy. When people have time off, they are more apt to spend some money.

So, I will choose a best answer soon after I re-read them all. Again, thanks all!

You left out Sweetest Day and Groundhog Day, not that they are interchangable.

They are all Hallmark Holidays designed to generate card/gift sales.

Children's Day is everyday. Why should there be a special day for a brother, sister, uncle or aunt? As a general rule, mothers, fathers, and grandparents have more to do with the raising of a child.

in japan they do have children day.. if there was a holiday with everything, then everyone would go broke from buying everyone something as a gift for that day or then the meaning of holiday wouldnt be the same.

Brother's, sister's, and chidren DO have a day. We even have a son and daughter day. Brother's day is in May. Sister's day is in August. Children's day depends on what country you are in.

For real...Why.....ALL THIS MONEY IS COMING OUT OF MY POCKET TO SPEND ON MY PARENTS>>>>>but they deserve something. IF it weren't for them you wouldn't be alive to get any money that you do make....Pretty soon it'll be your turn.

that's a damn good question but i think mothers, fathers, and grandparents deserve ther own day and one day you will be one of those and then you'll understand.
