Most of the country can't pronounce most words correctly, that's how. Jimmy Carter just has a southern accent by the way.

There are lots of people in the world who have trouble pronouncing certain words. Who cares? Get over it. Give the man a break, President Bush is doing a damn good job, better than any sissy liberal would ever do. And that is the truth.

It amazes me that "liberal/progressives" are tolerant of people only when others agree with their point of view or who meet with their approval. They seem to "tolerate" with a bias. In addition to that little idiosyncrasy afforded to the "progressive" mentality, there is also a good bit of juvenile name-calling.

Anyway, the answer to this is simple: George W. Bush is a graduate of Yale. He can speak better English than most of you. In fact, he's so good at articulating his point of view, that his advisers suggested he become more "down home" in his style of speech. He was urged to mispronounce certain words. Some of them, like "nuclear" have become his "trademark." FDR pronounced WAR as WHAAGH. Does that make him any less bright than all the "intellects" on this board? No....It makes him human with a dialect.

By the way.... I'm also a liberal. A Democrat by party. And here's another point I'd like to make: I'd rather vote for someone who'll stand by me as Commander-in-Chief when bullets are flying at my head, then a guy who cheats on his wife on the rug of the Oval Office.

Maybe we should make a new custom.
Instead of wasting votes, the Presidential candidate who can pronounce "nuclear" better can move into the White House.

I'd elect a mute to the presidency if I thought he had a good stand on the issues. Making fun of someone because of a speech impediment is a waste of time.

He never was elected, he was appointed to his first term and the voting machines were rigged in his second, the ones that I feel are the dumbest are the ones that voted for him the second time, and no Kerry could not have been worse, nobody could.

How? He received a majority of electoral votes, that's how. Last time I checked, the way a candidate speaks had nothing to do with it.
