Walmart made it very clear that the profit margin started in China. Of course we send the bucks over there and they never come back. Very poor economics on the national level.

I would say that 70% or more of the items in discount stores are made in China these days.

Last year I went to a living history settlement which sold "Americana" crafts from the early 1800. 90% of that was made in China.
